Metsamaa Cultural farm is a traditional farm located in Rootsi village on Kihnu island.

At our complex one can organize various camps, seminars, birthday parties, village celebrations and much more! Metsamaa farm doors are open to both Kihnu islanders and visitors from the mainland. Metsamaa farm is made up of a renovated farm house, outdoor kitchen and sauna, shed and a recently built auxiliary building for extra accommodation.

In the main house is a large room, office room in the back, bathroom, and kitchen and eating area on the first floor. On the second floor are two large sleeping rooms and a second bathroom equipped with a walk in shower. One of the sleeping rooms is meant for handicraft workshops and holds two large weaving looms meant for the villagers use. The house is well suited for seminars and workshops, film or dance evenings, as well as any other celebrations. The kitchen/eating area sits about 25-30 people and the largest room about 60. It is possible to use a projector, television and large speaker. The house can currently sleep up to 5 people in one of the sleeping rooms and extra spots are available upon request.

In the auxiliary building is a kitchen and eating area, bathrooms equipped with showers, and on the second floor two large sleeping rooms which accommodate 20 people.

In the shed is a display of traditional Kihnu tools, dowry chests and other various items.

Metsamaa farm holds one of the last standing outdoor kitchen/saunas on Kihnu island. If you would like to have a sauna then please inform us at least one day ahead of time so that we may prepare.

The outdoor area on the farm is spacious enough to hold a proper dance party või wedding celebration, sports events and even a theatre performance.

All the buildings and rooms are available for rent. Details and price list can be found HERE.
